Rescued avalanche victim on a rescue sled after an avalanche in Blons, 1954
Between 10 and 12 January 1954, a number of avalanche disasters occurred in the Great Walser Valley after extreme snowfalls. It was immediately set up a large-scale rescue operation including the gendarmerie, fire departments, charity organizations and volunteers. The picture shows a salvaged person on a sled, which is probably drawn by a rescue team.
