Heinz Goedecke during the propaganda show "Request Programme" in the Second World War
The "Request Programme" ("Wehrmacht Request Concert") which was launched at the beginning of the war by the Reich Broadcasting was a huge success, which had millions of listeners each weekend on the front and at home. The chief spokesman for Heinz Goedecke, here at the microphone, who hosted the show until the war ended, was regarded as the most popular radio staff and was effectively supported by the NS propaganda ministry.
