Inauguration of the Landtagsplatz in Hoesseringen, Lueneburg Heath, 1936
Image text:
Photo of the altar and commemorative stones (glacial erratics) at the Landtagsplatz in Hoesseringen near Suderburg in the Lueneburg Heath. On the altar: "In the service of the German people I exhaust my strength." Below at the altar two Germanic Odal runes meaning: heritage, ancestral possession. On the commemorative glacial erratic is a swastika with the inscription: "Liberated by Adolf Hitler, the free German peasantry meets again, 1936". The photo was taken on the occasion of the inauguration of the Landtagsplatz by the National Socialists on 28 June, 1936.
