A rescue helicopter of the type Bell UH-1D during a mission. These missions with rescue helicopters were pilot projects of the Luftrettung (air rescue service) of the Bundeswehr, the Bergwacht (mountain rescue service) and doctors of Munich hospitals. As of 01.11.1970 the Bundeswehr withdrew from the project, the ADAC stepped in and established with "Christoph 1" the first continuous service of a (civilian) rescue helicopter.
