After a traffic accident victims are taken care by the crew of a rescue helicopter. The helicopter has landed on a roadway. These missions with rescue helicopters were pilot projects of the Luftrettung (air rescue service) of Bundeswehr, Bergwacht (mountain rescue service) and doctors of Munich hospitals. As of 01.11.1970 the Bundeswehr withdrew from the project, the ADAC stepped in and with "Christoph 1" established the first continuous operation of a (civilian) rescue helicopter. The picture shows a victim who receives first aid from the crew, in the background there are many gawkers.
