A direct hit by an artillery gun sets fire to a shed that was used by German soldiers as a food supply shed. During the encirclement battle of Kholm, the "Kampfgruppe Scherer" successfully defended the town for 105 days. (A photo of the Propaganda Company (PK) by war correspondent Richard Muck, who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March).
