Luftwaffe soldiers take their dinner by candlelight in a bunker. During the encirclement battle of Cholm the "Kampfgruppe Scherer" successfully defended the town for 105 days. (A photo of the Propaganda Company (PK) by war correspondent Richard Muck, who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March).
