After the shooting down of three Soviet tanks, an assault squad advances to inspect the situation. Here they are still under cover. During the encirclement battle of Kholm the "Kampfgruppe Scherer" successfully defended the town for 105 days. (A photo of the Propaganda Company (PK) by war correspondent Richard Muck, who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March).
