In protest against the anti-Communist policy of Nazi Germany about 2500 communist demonstrators gathered in New York's Battery Park to walk in a protest march to the German consulate and the offices of the North German Lloyd Steamship Line. On the protest signs you can read, among others, the slogans: "Defend Soviet Union", "Long live revolutionary struggle of German proletariat", "Socialist. A.F.L. and all other workers unite in the struggle against Hunger, War, Fascism", "German Bosses, American Bosses: Murderers of the workers", ''Down with bloody Hitler Fascist regime", "Long Live Communist Party of Germany".
