In a police operation against demonstrating communists, two police officers, Anlauf and Lenck, were shot. The murderer was probably Erich Mielke, who fled abroad. After 1945, Mielke became head of the state security service of the GDR. By the tomb of Anlauf stand the Prussian Minister of the Interior, Albert Grzesinki, the Berlin police chief, Berhard Weiss, the commander of the Berlin police, Magnus Heimannsberg and Genz.
