On the occasion of the Erntedenkfest (harvest festival) in 1936 on the Bueckeberg, the Luftwaffe showed some parachute jumps during their demonstration. This feast was the "Reichserntedankankfest", which was celebrated annually from 1933 to 1937. The festivities were held on the first Sunday of October on the Reichsthingplatz. Starting 1935 every year was held a large Wehrmacht maneuver of almost all branches. Since the Fallschirmjaeger (paratroopers) unit was formed on 29.01.1936, this was the first time when they were presented during this maneuver on the Bueckeberg in 1936.
