Soldiers of the Reichswehr with a heavy machine gun MG 08 with optical periscope, pictured left a man with a rangefinder. The maneuver took place in the area Meiningen-Kissingen at Wuerzburg. The helmet bands were used to identify the belonging of soldiers to one of the two maneuver groups.
