Since the wars in 1866 and 1870 the development of the railway system had become very important to the German general staff. Here, the Eisenbahn-Regiment No. 1 ("1st Railway Regiment") which built a railway bridge at Jaenickendorf near Jueterbog within eleven days. Undated photo.
