Sie zerstörten die Grenzschranken an der französisch-deutschen Grenze und verbrannten im Niemandsland die Schlagbäume und Schilder. In einer Proklamation in englischer, französischer und deutscher Sprache forderten sie die Bildung eines europäischen Parlaments und einer europäischen Regierung.
