Workers attach letters of the 'Dem Deutschen Volk' logo to the roof of the Reichstag building in Berlin. After the completion of the Reichstag already in 1894, the logo of the art nouveau artist Peter Behrens was attached only in 1916. Wilhelm II. initially wanted the words 'Der Deutschen Einheit' (German Union) and only after domestic political issues of the first World war, he agreed to the logo to accommodate the parliament.
